Curved
Pieces
Mold and fixture manufacturing may require precision machining of non-ferrous
metals such as aluminum. High-speed spindle speeds and federates are optimal
for this work.
Chairs
The chair components usually machined by CNC are seats, legs, rails and
backs, but sometimes chairs are made from a single curved component, that needs
to be trimmed, routed and bored.
The types of materials used include plywood, plastic, polycarbonate, epoxy resins,
composites, the type of product, machining required and the tolerances needed
are the main parameters that influence the size and type of CNC machine required.
Including whether 3, 4 or 5 simultaneously axes are required to produce the
product. In addition to the "traditional" plywood curved chairs, others examples
are, components for automobile and aircraft seats, school and office seating,
theater and stadium seating, etc.
